SMAJ12A is a surface mount transient voltage suppression diode. Its main function is to provide ESD protection, surge suppression and transient voltage protection for electronic equipment. Due to its extremely fast response characteristics, the device can quickly discharge abnormally large currents to the ground to ensure that precision electronic components are not damaged.

Working Principle

SMAJ12A is in a high impedance state and is almost non-conductive under normal voltage. When the external transient voltage exceeds its breakdown voltage, it will immediately conduct and bypass the surge current to the ground, thereby protecting the subsequent circuit. It should be noted that it is unidirectional and is only applicable to DC circuits or signal lines with clear polarity.
