Overview
Silicon controlled rectifiers(SCR),also known as thyristors, are common semiconductor components with the characteristics of simple composition, high power, small space, etc. Now more and more related industries are paying attention to them, and there are many application fields, such as televisions, fans and other household appliances. Thyristors are used in common unidirectional thyristors, which have more practical controllability.
About the symbol of thyristor component
- Off-state voltage critical rise rate dv/dt: The lower voltage rise rate that causes the component to switch from the off state to the on state at the rated junction temperature and gate disconnection.
- Gate trigger current IGT: The smaller gate DC current required to fully turn on the component when the main voltage is 6 volts DC at room temperature.
- Off-state repetitive peak voltage VDRM: 90% of the non-repetitive off-state peak voltage.
- Gate trigger voltage VGT: The gate DC voltage corresponding to the gate trigger current.
- Off-state repetitive average current IDR: The average leakage current corresponding to the off-state repetitive peak voltage.
- Off-state non-repetitive peak voltage VDSM: The off-state peak voltage at the sharp bend of the forward volt-ampere characteristic curve when the gate is disconnected.
- Off-state non-repetitive average current IDS: The average leakage current corresponding to the off-state non-repetitive peak voltage at the rated junction temperature when the gate is disconnected.
- Average on-state current IT: The maximum allowable average on-state current of the component in a single-phase industrial frequency half-wave sinusoidal circuit with resistive load and a conduction angle of not less than 170 degrees, when the junction temperature is stable and does not exceed the rated junction temperature, under an ambient temperature of +40°C and specified cooling conditions.
Classification of thyristors:
- Turn-off speed: There are two main types, namely ordinary and fast thyristors.
- Current capacity: There are three main types, namely high-power, medium-power and low-power thyristors.
- Packaging: There are three main types, namely metal seal (bolt-shaped, flat-plate-shaped, round shell-shaped), plastic seal (with heat sink and without heat sink), ceramic package thyristor.
- Pins and polarity: This method is mainly divided into three types: quadrupole, triode and diode thyristors.
- Turn-off, conduction and control methods: This method can be divided into many types, such as bidirectional thyristors, reverse conduction thyristors, temperature control, light control thyristors, etc.
